  • When is Family Weekend?

Friday, September 20, 2024 – Sunday, September 22, 2024

    • Friday registration begins at 12:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m.
    • Saturday registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m.
    • The weekend concludes with Worship Service on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at 10:00am
  • Who can attend?

We welcome parents, guardians, and immediate family members of all current HPU undergraduates. Your student is encouraged to attend Family Weekend events with you throughout the three days. You can register a maximum of 4 guests (do not include your student in the general Family Weekend registration).

  • What is the cost to attend the 3-day Family Weekend?

Family Weekend is complimentary for students and their immediate family members. HPU will be delighted to provide up to 4 guests with complimentary meals. Meals may be used Friday – Sunday at any of the food service locations, except 1924 PRIME and Alo. Families wishing to purchase additional meals may do so once they arrive on campus at each food service location. Students may dine throughout the weekend using their standard meal plan.

  • When can I register?

Online reservations for Family Weekend will begin in August. Check back for more details. Please call the Campus Concierge at 336-841-4636 with any questions or comments.

  • What happens after I register?

You will receive a confirmation email. When you arrive to campus you will receive Family Weekend information. Seating is limited at all events and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • How do I make changes to my registration?

Changes to your general Family Weekend registration information can be made prior to 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, September 15 by emailing [emailprotected]

  • I have more than twofamily members attending. Can you accommodate them?

Yes, we would be happy to accommodate more than 2 guests per family, but the extra guests without meal booklets will need to pay cash or credit at dining locations to be able to dine on campus.

  • What happens when I get there?

The R. G. Wanek Center Registration Desk is your first stop. Credentials for the weekend, including complimentary dining passes, must be picked up by parents. HPU staff and student volunteers will welcome you beginning at 12:00 pm on Friday. When you check in, you will receive:

      • Family Weekend Name Badge (limit 6 per family). Do not include student in the registration of guests.
      • Important updates.
      • Complimentary meal booklet (limit 2 per family).
      • Information on other weekend activities on campus.
  • How do I make reservations for Alo or 1924 PRIME during Family Weekend?

Beginning in August, students may make reservations on a first-come, first-served basis for 1924 Prime, Alo and Kazoku. Meals will be charged at $65 per person and must be paid on a student Passport Card.

  • How do I find out about sorority and fraternity activities?

HPU’s sororities and fraternities often will host special events on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during Family Weekend for members and their families. Please call the Office of Student Life at 336-841-9231 for more details.

  • How do I get tickets to Family Weekend Events?

Most Family Weekend events will not be ticketed, except for the Planetarium Shows and the PantherPalooza Concert. All other seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the venue.

Please preregister for Family Weekend by using the online registration beginning Wednesday, August 9 at 12:00 p.m. EST so we know you are coming. When you arrive on campus, you will receive a name badge that acts as your credentials.

  • How do I get tickets to the PantherPalooza Concert?

Registration will begin in August. Check back for more details.

  • How do I get tickets to the Culp Planetarium Shows

Tickets for the planetarium shows will be available for pick-up at the entrance to the Culp Planetarium on Friday, 2/2 from 12:45pm – 4:00pm, and on Saturday, 2/3 from 9:45am – 4:45pm. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. Each show time will require tickets.

  • How should I dress?

Like your student. Wear purple to show your Panther pride! Wear comfortable shoes so you’re prepared for lots of walking. Bring your exercise gear if you plan to use the HPU Recreation facilities. Be prepared for all weather. Activities take place rain or shine.

  • What do I need to bring?

Bring your confirmation e-mail with you to the R. G. Wanek Center Registration Desk.

  • What if we need disability-related assistance?

We can make special arrangements. Please let us know your needs in advance by calling the Campus Concierge at 336-841-4636.

  • What about parking?

During Family Weekend students will not need to secure visitor parking passes for their guests. Parking will be open to guests in Lot A/B and the Qubein Arena lot. A special family weekend shuttle route will operate on Friday, 9/20 from 12pm – 11pm; Saturday, 9/21 from 7am-11pm; Sunday, 9/22 from 7am-1pm. It will make continuous loops from Lot A/B, Hayworth Fine Arts Center, Slane Student Center, R.G. Wanek Center, Congdon Hall, and the Qubein Arena parking lot.
