How to complete the Fire Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The Fire Temple is one of the longest and hardest temples in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The interweaving rail network and unorthodox layout make it one of the trickier temples to unpick, plus you have to go through a bit of an ordeal to get there in the first place. Still, if you want to complete the game’s story you’ll need to complete it.

How to get into the Fire Temple – Zelda TOTK
You should already have some fire-protection gear by this point, and you’ll need to be wearing at least one piece of it at all times from this point on. When you first reach the top of the mountain, you’ll be faced with a miniboss.
What you need to do is hop on one of the flying Zonai devices with a controller on it nearby. Fly around the faces and use Yunobo’s ability to smash into the glowing red heads.
Hit all three and a pit will open up to the Depths, which is where the Fire Temple is located.
Go down and activate the nearby Lightroot, then just follow the path upwards.

When you go in and try to activate the Zonai device, the gate won’t drop, as you need to release the five skull locks on the gate.
First Fire Temple lock – Zelda TOTK
Head back along the path and turn to where the cart rails start. There are plenty of ready-made fan carts around, so hop in one and move along the rails. As you do, fire Yunobo at the target to switch the points.
Follow it until you hit a barrier and then jump off. Walk down the path and ramp Yunobo off some nearby rocks to clear the glowing red rock.
You can now jump over the gap and fire Yunobo into the gong and release the first lock.
Second Fire Temple lock – Zelda TOTK
Back at the rails, give the node a whack to open the barrier.
An enemy in an adjacent cart will appear, but fire Yunobo at it to destroy it.
Follow your current rail to the end, then use the turnstile to change direction. You’ll see a target directly ahead of you, hit it to change tracks.
Hit the bell on the left to go over and just a chest containing 10 arrows – you’re about to need them.
Hit the bell on the right to lower the rail and take a cart over to the other side.
Use the hydrants to get over the lava and then fire Yunobo into the gong for the second lock.
Third Fire Temple lock – Zelda TOTK
Use the turnstyle to change direction, then fire an arrow at the bell you used previously to raise the rail up.
Ride the rail into the next section, and follow the rails on that floor all the way around until you’re on the opposite platform. Then fire one arrow at the left bell to turn the track around, and one at the right bell to raise it up.
You can ride this up to a raised platform, shoot an arrow through the gap in the bridge to unlock a later track, and then glide down onto the lower floor.
Once there, fire Yunobo up the ramp to destroy the red rock.
Use the new piece of rock the Hydrant makes to form a DIY ramp aimed at the gong. Fire Yunobo again to hit it.
Fourth Fire Temple Lock – Zelda TOTK
Take that ramp you just used and turn it around to smash a giant red rock blocking the entrance to the next gong.
Glide over (Tulin’s ability helps) and then climb up. You can then drop all the way down to clear the fourth gong.
Fifth Fire Temple lock – Zelda TOTK
Return to the platform on floor 3F where all the rails came out of. This time attach a rocket and fan to a cart and place it on the broken rail. Activate it to fly across.
While there is an intended solution here it’s quite easy to simply climb up the side of the building to reach the final gong – even if you don’t have much stamina.
Fire Temple boss – Zelda TOTK
Return to the Zonai device and the gate will now open.
Fire Yunobo up the wall so that he hits the red rock on the ceiling.
This will cause the boss, Marbled Gohma, to appear.
Fire Yunobo at two of the boss’ legs to destroy them and it’ll topple over, then you can wail on it all you want. At the halfway point it will switch to walking on the ceiling, but you can fire Yunobo up the walls, at that point you only need to hit one leg to make it fall.
