Who is Ashley Ortega?
German-Filipino actress and professional figure skater Ashleigh Marguerretthe Krystalle Nordstrom Samson, known better as Ashley Ortega, was born under the zodiac sign Capricorn on 26 December 1998 in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines. She’s appeared in nearly 40 movies and TV series, and is perhaps known best for portraying Jackie Sagrado, one of the main characters in all 43 episodes of the crime mystery series “Widows’ Web”, which John Kenneth De Leon created, and which also starred Pauline Mendoza and Vaness Del Moral. It follows four women forced to hold secrets after the assassination of a wealthy businessman.
Early life and education
Ashley was raised alongside her younger sister Allyzza Nordstrom Samsomn and older brother Malcolm Nordstrom Samson in San Fernando, by their Spanish-Filipino father whose name remains unrevealed, and Filipino-German mother Kathleen Nordstrom Samson; Ashley respects her family’s privacy and thus no other details have been revealed about them.
She was only 12 when she launched her career in the entertainment industry as she began appearing in commercials, and was 13 when she made her debut TV series appearance, playing Julie Dela Guardia in the 2012 episode “Conquer” of the drama “Cielo de Angelina”, which starred Bea Binene, Jake Vargas and Victor Basa, and follows the life of a young girl.

Only a year later, Ashley made her film debut by portraying Anna in the drama “Bamboo Flowers”, which Maryo J. de los Reyes directed, and which starred Mylene Dizon and Max Collins. It follows the lives of a group of people from Bohol, and the series won one of its 19 award nominations.

The year 2015 saw Ashley appear in both the drama “Dangwa” and the romantic drama “Karelasyon”, and the following year saw her star as Ariana in all 55 episodes of the romantic crime drama “Oh, My Mama!”, which also starred Inah De Belen, Sheryl Cruz and Jeffrey Quizon, and follows Maricel who’s just learned that her father’s a criminal.
In 2017 and 2018, she portrayed Kristy Garcia in all 95 episodes of the action adventure comedy “Super Ma’am”, which Aloy Adlawan created, and which starred Marian Rivera, Helen Gamboa and AiAi Delas Alas. It follows the life of a teacher with superpowers.
Some of Ashley’s most recent roles in TV series have been in two episodes of the crime action adventure “Black Rider”, 16 episodes of the drama “Magpakailanman”, and 11 episodes of the drama “Tadhana”, all released in 2023.

Ashley played Young Reina in the 2014 drama “Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw”, which Aloy Adlawan created, and which starred Ki Rodriguez, Kristoffer Martin and Jestoni Alarcon; it follows Josephine and Tupe who were raised on a remote island.
The year 2017 saw Ashley play Chelsea in the horror “Spirit of the Glass 2: The Hunted”, which Jose Javier Reyes wrote and directed, and which starred Sachi Manahan, Arron Villaflor and Ube Lola. It follows three social media stars as they’re trying to contact spirits with the game Spirit of the Glass – the film was nominated for only a single award.
In 2018, Ashley portrayed Mira in the drama “Wild and Free”, directed by Connie Macatuno, and which starred Sanya Lope, Derrick Monasterio and Juancho Trivino. The film follows Jake and Ellie who are in a passionate relationship; it won a single award.

Ashley’s since appeared in only a single movie, playing one of the lead characters in the 2023 drama “As If It’s True”, which John Rogers wrote and directed, and which also starred Khalil Ramos and Adrianna So. It follows a struggling musician and a social media star who’ve fallen in love; the film was nominated for one award.

The two met in January 2023 while ice skating as Mark also enjoys taking part in the sport, and they went on to appear at various events in the Philippines together; Ashley and Mark seemed to be happy together as they often featured each other in their Instagram pictures and videos, however, they split by the end of the year for unknown reasons. Ashley’s revealed that the decision was mutual and that they’ve remained friends.
